MISSION:
The mission of Jump-Start Christian Academy is “Changing lives through faith, friends, and family.”
PURPOSE:
The purpose of our school is to provide opportunities that meet the needs of early child development in a Christian atmosphere, and to expand the world of the child to include friends in the community as well as in the home and church. Under the guidance of qualified, experienced teachers, this program will provide a curriculum that considers the developmental needs of each child and emphasizes growth physically, spiritually, emotionally, intellectually and socially. The student/teacher ratio will be kept at a low level to facilitate individual attention and instruction of each child. Children of every race, religion and cultural heritage are welcome. Enrollment shall be open to any child, provided the school can meet the needs of that child.
PHILOSOPHY:
We believe in providing a supportive and nurturing learning environment for children, encouraging their development through Christian-based education and a developmentally appropriate Early Childhood curriculum.
We believe young children learn best through explorations, experiences and discoveries.
We believe a child should develop social skills by interacting with others, developing communication skills of language and listening, and expanding an understanding of his/her world. We will provide the manipulative tools and materials in an environment of loving guidance and positive discipline which enables a child to explore, discover, compare, group, solve, remember and imagine.
We believe an excitement for learning is best generated in a setting that presents opportunities for active participatory learning. We will accomplish this through careful planning and preparation by a qualified, dedicated and loving faculty. Classrooms will be set up in learning centers, which allow the children to select from several activities in order to stimulate all areas of development.
